ReaSet — Licence
Copyright (c) 2025-2026 David Jenttleman ("the Author"). All rights reserved.

This is a proprietary licence that grants free use. It is not an open source
licence. Read the two short sections below; they say what you may and may not
do.

1. WHAT YOU MAY DO, AT NO COST

   a) Use ReaSet, for any purpose, including commercially — live performance,
rehearsal, studio work, teaching, or anything else. There is no fee and
      no registration.

   b) Install it on as many of your own machines as you like.

   c) Modify your own copy to suit your setup.

   d) Share unmodified copies with others, free of charge, keeping this licence
file and all copyright notices intact.

2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION

   a) Sell, licence, rent or otherwise charge for ReaSet, or include it in a
      paid product or service.

   b) Distribute modified versions publicly.

   c) Remove or alter the copyright notices or this licence.

The Author retains all rights not expressly granted here, including the
right to release future versions under different terms and to include this
   code in commercial products.

For anything section 2 does not allow, ask: permission is often given.

3. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

The `Legacy/` directory contains scripts by other authors under their own
licences. They are historical references, superseded by `Reaset.lua`, and
are NOT covered by this licence. See `Legacy/LICENSE-NOTICE.md`.

4. VERSIONS RELEASED BEFORE THIS LICENCE

ReaSet up to and including v2.x was released under the GNU General Public
Licence v3. **That does not change.** Anyone who obtained a GPLv3 version
keeps every GPLv3 right in it, permanently, and may fork and redistribute
   it under those terms.

This licence applies to v3.0 and later only. The change was made by the
Author as sole copyright holder of the code it covers; see
`docs/RELICENSING.md` for how that was established.

5. NO WARRANTY

ReaSet is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or
implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In no event shall
the Author be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in
an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in
connection with ReaSet or its use.

ReaSet drives playback software in live performance. Test your setup before
relying on it in front of an audience.
